 Amendment I:

"Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or of the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

This amendment is strictly all about people living how they want. We as citizens of the United States cannot be forced to just one religion we have the free reign to believe in what we want, we are supposed to be able to speak on how we feel, we are supposed to be allowed to get our information from where we want and also this amendment is supposed to protect people as they gather rather in public or in private. Which leaves me to say I believe every one of these things mentioned in this amendment should be weighed the same because they are also very important to me. Although a lot of things in the world that happen when it comes to the government aren't fair this amendment gives people a chance to stand up for what they believe in.

This cartoon gives you a clear view of what the amendment protects.

Watch the clip to get a more modern view on how the first amendment is important in our lives today. The clips mentions how we have the right to text, tweet, and talk about what we want! That's a big thing in today's society as technology steady advances!
